Should murder/violence be justified in times of war?

People pry their eyes open, get out of bed, and drag themselves to work, school, or whatever they do daily all because each and every person is driven by their own set of morals and beliefs. A person’s morals heavily influence how they act and respond to their environment and surroundings. In the story, “Just Lather That’s All” by Hernando Tellez, the barber is going through a dilemma and is faced against the conflict of, Person vs. Person. He is repeatedly forced to soul search and perceive his priorities in life, whilst shaving the man he loathes with a skin slicing razor. Although his customer took responsibility in killing hundreds of the barber's associates, the barber knew better than to execute a man in his own workplace. To save your self with self defence is one thing, but to behead a man from the neck is considered brutal and unjust. War should be no excuse to commit murder and terrorize people, unless under the circumstances of self defence. The barber vividly portrays how important a person's morals are and that war should never justifiy violence and be an excuse to murder.
